So much to do... So little time!

This week, well these past couple of weeks, have been super busy between class, two jobs and wedding planning. But, we've managed to make progress!

Wednesday my maid of honor and I went to look for bride's maids dresses and accidental found my dress. My mom and I went back on Thursday and got it. I won't tell you how it looks... you'll have to wait until after the wedding. I don't want to spoil any surprises. I will tell you I got it at House of the Bride (http://www.houseofthebride.com) in Augusta, Georgia.

I guess that officially got the ball rolling on planning, because that afternoon Scott and I made an appointment for Saturday morning to visit a reception venue.

The venue was beautiful. It is an old house that was built in 1835 and has marble floors, chandeliers and a beautiful curved staircase as the main entrance. We loved it buy want to check out all of our options before we book anything.

I'll keep you posted on our progress.

Welcome to Wedding Bliss

Join us on our journey through Wedding Bliss as we plan our big day! We've set the date for 11.21.2009, so it'll be a long journey! 421 days to be exact!

I've begun to look at reception sites, churches, dresses, stationary and flowers. I'll keep you all filled in on all of the little details!

Engagement

I've had lots of my friends and family ask me how we got engaged. So, I'll tell you all here...

I spent 5 1/2 weeks in Paris this summer studying international business and communications for professionals. I loved it, but was ready to come home and see all of my friends and family. I missed Scott more than anything, so I insisted that he take off work to pick me up from Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta.

August 6th finally came and I was on my way home! Scott met me at the top of the escalator with a huge bouquet of flowers in hand... I was so happy to see him and neither of us could stop smiling.

On the way home, he kept asking me if I needed to stop somewhere to go to the bathroom or eat. Little did I know the ring was locked in the glove box in front of me and he couldn't get to it. So, I finally agreed to stop and get something to eat at an Arby's.

I went in while he waited in the car... I was ready to get the airport off my hands and he wanted to go through the drive through.

So, when I got back to the car he kept asking me what I wanted. I was actually really excited to have some American food, so that is all I was thinking about. I told him "I want a Jr. Roast Beef Sandwich and a Mountain Dew with ice!" He said, "Is that all?" I then said, "Well, I'll take a Jamocha shake too!" He repeated the question. I said that was all I wanted. He replied, "Are you sure that's all you want?" I said "Yep, that's it!"

Then, he pulled out the box and said, "Well, what about one of these?"

Of course I screamed and cried... I asked him if he was kidding. He laughed and said he was serious. (He still makes fun of me for that!)

And that was it! It was one very sweet, very spontaneous proposal!
